Wushu Manitoba Training Centre
Lion Dance and Acrobatics Team
The Lion dance program offered at the WMTC focuses on group/solo dynamics, musical instruments, choreography, competition and demonstration of the Lion Dance. Our training facility is spacious enough to practice on poles as well as enough room for creative choreography and musical talent to flourish. Training in Lion Dance enables the student to be able to perform confidently in front of a large audience on several different routines of lion dancing ie. Freestyle, Props (benches), and for the advanced Jongs (poles).
The Wushu Manitoba Training Centre Lion Dance Team is a Chinese cultural performance group who has performed in over 100 multicultural, corporate, business, competitive and special events in Canada, United States, South America and in Europe since 2003. Their goal is to promote traditional and modern Chinese culture and influence through martial arts and lion dance. Originating from China & with nearly 2000 years of cultural history, our demonstration team offers authentic southern style lions accompanied by traditional lion dance music & instruments. The southern lion costumes have been masterfully hand crafted from China and Singapore and are available in various colors and custom furs. The lions are performed by two people using traditional and modern choreographed routines, martial arts and acrobatics.
